If stories were water, the Mon Valley might float away.
Over the past year, writers from the McKeesport Community Newsroom have worked to tell the stories of local people and places at the fourth annual Tube City Writers Live at the Carnegie Library of McKeesport 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
“It’s all about engaging the community,” program director Martha Rial said. “There’s always a need to tell true stories – stories that show people they belong. We see it as a celebration of a year of hard work.
“We have such a diverse range of writers and photographers this year. Everyone has their own unique perspective. We have writers ranging from 15 to 70 years old. They amaze me with the different ways they approach each story.”
The event features food prepared by Chef Vincent Wright, around nine readers, a small photo exhibit and time to talk with local writers.
