Sandra L. Sasselli Pizzica – Monongahela

Sandra L. Sasselli Pizzica, 84, of Monongahela passed away on July 3, 2023, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital inPittsburgh. Born Sept. 1, 1938, in Monongahela, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Margaret DeLuca Sasselli. A 1956 graduate of Monongahela High School, she attended Penn Hall Junior College in Chambersburg. Sandy was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Monongahela and its Altar Rosary Christian Mothers Society. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Paula Pizzica-Anderson and husband Derek of Maryland, and Kelliann Pizzica-Rhodes of Monongahela; six grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Lauren, Natalia Anderson and Devon and Cassandra Rhodes; and one great-grandson, Kaiden Grimm-Rhodes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Pizzica, who died March 6, 2002, and her brother, Lawrence Sasselli. A private funeral Mass was held at the family’s request, and interment took place in the St. Mary’s section of Monongahela Cemetery.
