Chalmer M. Thompson – Formerly of Monessen

Chalmer M. Thompson, 73 , formerly of Monessen, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in Forbes Regional Hospital of Monroeville. He was born in New Eagle Jan. 25, 1950, a son of the late John C. and Louise V. Troth Thompson. Chalmer graduated from Monessen High School and attended classes at Westmoreland County Community College, Robert Morris University and Duff’s Business Institute. Chalmer was Presbyterian by faith and was active with the Boy Scouts of America. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed coin and currency collection and was an avid Beatles fan and loved music. He was a devoted father to his two sons, Deon Thompson, who preceded him in death, and Aaron and wife Hannah Thompson. He adored his grandchildren, Aiden, Carson and Luca Thompson. In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Thompson Gula. Private funeral arrangements were entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen.
