Virginia N. Krusey – Charleroi

Virginia M. Krusey, 86, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on July 8th, 2023 with her family by her side. Born on June 30 1937, in Mount Pleasant, Virginia is the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Melega) Martin. A graduate of Charleroi High School, Virginia married Robert William Krusey, Jr., on Feb. 2, 1955. As well as being a wife and mother she still managed to be active outside of the home by working at several establishments in the Mon Valley. She worked as a seamstress for Brookvale Clothing Factory, then earned a degree at Douglas School of Business and worked at Charleroi Federal Savings Bank until her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors with her family at their cabin in Forest County enjoying camping, hunting, fishing and boating. In addition to her husband Robert Krusey Jr., Virginia is survived by her brother Donald (Lois) Martin of Belle Vernon; nieces and nephews, Bill (Barbara) Reis, of Charleroi, Jack (Kathy) Reis of Belpre, W. Va., Ricky Martin of California state, Kathy (Scott) Martin Lane of Alabama, Jeanmarie (Willy) Martin Rogers of Litiz, Pa., Germaine (Mark) Reed of Bethel Park, Jim Falis of Fallowfield Township;and her sister-in-law, Jean Martin, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her children, Robert Wayne Krusey and Martin Francis Krusey; her brother, Richard Martin; sister, Doris (Harry) Reis; and niece, Michelle Martin. Virginia’s family would like to thank the staff of Cambridge Creekside Senior Living and Comfort Care Hospice for the excellent care and comfort they provided for her. Friends and family will be received from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Following the visitation, funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora. In lieu of flowers the family requested memorial contributions in Virginia’s name be made to the Charleroi Area School District Education Foundation (CASDEF), PO Box 382 Charleroi, PA 15022.
