Revelers across the Mon Valley braved the heat and humidity to take part in Fourth of July activities Tuesday — celebrating the nation’s founding with parades, fireworks, food, music and fun.
The annual Monongahela Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks Display was back with a bang at the Monongahela Aquatorium as a day of games, vendors, live music and food trucks was capped off with an impressive fireworks display.

McKeesport celebrates Fourth of July
McKeesport rocked the night away yesterday at Renzie Park’s annual Fourth of July celebration.
Hundreds of people from across western Pennsylvania reveled in music, Americana and fireworks at the McKeesport Lions Bandshell.
“Our Fourth of July celebration here in McKeesport always highlights one of our city’s brightest gems in Renzie Park,” Mayor Michael Cherepko said. “As always, we’re more than happy to host these festivities.”
