Gene A. Salvio – Finleyville

Gene A. Salvio, of Finleyville, died Thursday, June 29, 2023. He was born in Greensburg, a son of the late Benjamin and Edna Irene (Gilbert) Salvio. Prior to retirement, he was the owner of Salvio Heating and Air Conditioning for over 50 years. Gene served in the Army, was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7812 in West Newton and a member of the Sutersville Moose. Gene lost his beautiful daughter, Janine, whom he loved very much, and siblings, Betty Zuffall, Patty Salvio, Ida Rebic, Carol Realino and Bennie Jr., Kenneth and Joseph Salvio. Surviving are his wife, Susan Salvio; sons, Robert Salvio and wife Laurie, Sam Salvio and wife Kim, and Benjamin Salvio and wife Brittany; grandsons, Salvatore Salvio (Lizzy) and Victor Salvio; great-grandchildren, Capri, Luca, Rylan, Bennett and Brooklyn; siblings, Frances Cavello, Marion Ghrist, Frank Salvio, Karen Nesser and Edna Crosby; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME, 901 Vine St., West Newton, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Light of Life Mission, Pittsburgh, or City Mission, Washington, Pa.
