Irene Louise Hilaire – Donora

Irene Louise Hilaire, 98, of Donora, passed away at Mon Valley Care Center on Sunday, June 25, 2023. Born in Donora on Jan. 14, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Abdom and Rose Hilaire. Irene spent her long life in Donora, graduating from Donora High School with the Class of 1942. She began her career with American Steel and Wire Works, and when the plant closed, she transferred to the Pittsburgh office of United States Steel Corporation, where she retired after 40 years of service. After retiring, Irene was a volunteer at the Asbury Heights Methodist Senior Center in Mt. Lebanon. Irene was a dedicated member of Donora Methodist Church all her life. She was also a member of the Donora Historical Society. Private services were held at Monongahela Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
