Police officers lined the street Tuesday to escort the body of Glenn Porter to the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home in Charleroi. All area law enforcement agencies took part, along with state police, the Washington County Sheriff, Rostraver West Newton EMS and fire departments from Charleroi, Fallowfield Township, North Charleroi and Stockdale. The car carrying Porter’s body was escorted by California police Chief Jim Smith. Porter, a Fallowfield Township who was close to starting a new job with the California Police Department, was killed in a traffic accident Friday night in Delaware. Arrangements are being handled by Spallino Funeral Home, 819 Fallowfield Ave., with viewings scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Charleroi.
