Janet Wilson Baron, 72, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. Born Feb. 6, 1951, in North Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Jack E. and LaVon Cintella Wilson. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 48 years, Mrs. Baron retired in 2020 from Belle Vernon Area School District, where she worked in the Marion Elementary School cafeteria. She was also a member of the Naomi Athletic Club and a social member of the Belle Vernon American Legion. She enjoyed spending time shopping with her husband, and her biggest sense of pride was her grandchildren, spending time with each of them, baking with her granddaughters, cheering her grandsons on at football and attending all the extracurricular activities. She is survived by her husband, Robert Baron, to whom she was married to for 48 years; three children, Lee and RaeLynn Baron of Belle Vernon, Robert Wood of Roscoe and Lisa Wood of Montana; 11 grandchildren, Hayden Baron, Landen Baron, Ethan Baron, Jonathan Wood, Jocelyn (Anthony) Frucella, Jaclyn (David) Ross, Kiera Wood and fiancé Lloyd, Caressa Wood and fiancé Jeremy, Josh Valdiserri, Jake (Kyra) Valdiserri and Derrick Valdiserri; two great-granddaughters, Kinzy and Jema Valdiserri; a brother-in-law, Richard Racey of Belle Vernon, and two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Ron Coates of Idaho, and Beverly and George Duda of Uniontown. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Wood; and a brother, Jack Wilson. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, followed by funeral services at 8 p.m. with the Rev. David Nazimek of The Church of St. Anne officiating at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183.
