By obits

Emil P. Hruby, 90, of Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Born on Sept. 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Paul and Johanna Bazach Hruby. Emil was a retired business owner of sandblasting/contractor throughout the Mon Valley area. He spent much of his time repairing and fixing everything from a broken bicycle to engineering a new part for a piece of farm machinery. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Aside from his love of tinkering, Emil loved to make people smile and laugh with his humor! He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cynthia Hruby; daughter, Elaine Hruby; grandchildren, Andrew Kershey and Emily Kershey; brothers, Arthur (Donna) Hruby and Raymond (Georgie) Hruby; and his companion, Kimba. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Emil Hruby; daughter, Laura Lee Kershey; brothers, William, Robert, Paul, George, Edward, David, John, Sylvester, and Alfred Hruby; and sisters, Margaret Benczo, Velma Galiffa, and Florence Huntoon. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. David J.
