Dax Thomas State Farm and Cedarbrook opened the MVI Summer Basketball League’s girls division action with a hotly contested matchup, but in the end, it was head coach Mariah Ward’s Cedarbrook team picking up a season-opening 71-56 win over first-year coach Dan Slain’s squad.
