Regina Wojciechowski Danek – Donora and Charleroi

Regina Wojciechowski Danek, 83, died June 16, 2023, at Paramount Senior Living in Bethel Park. Born in Donora to the late Joseph and Anna Mary Wojciechowski, she was a lifelong resident of Donora and Charleroi. A graduate of Donora High School, Regina attended Mount Mercy College, now Carlow University. After graduating with a degree in English and art education, she first taught art at Kittanning High School. Following her marriage to Stanley Danek in 1968, Regina returned to Donora and taught at Mon Valley Catholic High School. Later in her career, she taught in the Ringgold School District, from which she eventually retired. A talented artist, Regina loved watercolors, knitting, charcoal drawings, ceramics and later, fiber arts. She had an antique loom in her home so that she could create rugs and other woven objects. In addition to art, she loved travel, classical music, reading and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Heather) of Mt. Lebanon, and Mark of Conshohocken, Pa.; her sister-in-law, Judy Wojciechowski of Forest Hills; and many nieces, nephews and cousins, both in and outside of the United States. In addition to her husband, Regina was predeceased by her brother, Conrad; and a special aunt, Louise Swantner. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Campus at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Monongahela.
