Ronald Albert Monack, 94, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2023, at the Saint Anne Home in Greensburg. Ron was born on May 16, 1929, to the late Michael and Edith Pasqua DeCapitio Monack. Following high school, Ron graduated from Saint Vincent College in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology. After college Ron served in his country honorably as a medic in the United States Army from 1952-54, during the Korean Conflict.   Catholic by faith; Mr. Monack was a member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish (formerly Mary Mother Church) in Charleroi. Ron was a life-long community volunteer member of the Mon Valley regional area, for over 50 years Ron had served in the community. Ron was most known for being a long-time board member of the YMCA, treasurer and chairman. He was the chairman of the Fallowfield Township Municipal Authority, chairman of the trustees of the Charleroi Chamber of Commerce, and was president of Middle Monongahela Industrial Development Association. Ron was also an avid golfer and enjoyed spending his time with his beloved family and friends. Surviving to cherish Ron’s memory are his son, Ronald Alan Monack of Latrobe; his daughter-in-law, Mary Monack of Latrobe; his granddaughter, Megan Quinn Monack of Latrobe; and grandson, Ronald Patrick Monack of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, Ron was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith Isabel Monack. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2023, at Saint Andrew the Apostle – Charleroi Site, 624 Washington Ave. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
