Janice Elaine Sutherland – Monongahela

Janice Elaine Sutherland, 69, of Monongahela, died Friday, May 26, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. She was born Sept. 29, 1953, in New Eagle, the daughter of the late Andrew Charles Bakori and Thelma Mae Stinogle Bakori, who survives and resides in Finleyville. Janice was a 1971 graduate of Monongahela High School and a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela. She was employed at Allegheny General Hospital in patient registration and as a certified nursing assistant for 17 years. She loved to bake and spend time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Gery Sutherland, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage on July 20, 2022; son, Gery (Veronica) Sutherland of Canonsburg; daughter, Heather (Andrew) Popich of Monongahela; six grandchildren, Carrera and Vincent Sutherland, Blake and Cash Eisel, and Adriana and Andrew Popich IV; and a brother, Andrew (Brenda) Charles Bakori Jr. of Finleyville. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and John Holmes. At Janice’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
