Denise M. Applegate Baker, 54, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at her home. Born Aug. 19, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of Harry Applegate Jr. and Pamela Snyder Applegate, who survive and reside in Belle Vernon. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Denise was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Belle Vernon and worked in the central supply department at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was a member of ZTA Sorority, enjoyed painting her ceramics, decorating and working in her yard, along with going to the beach and camping. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two daughters, Hannah Baker and Shelby Baker, whom she loved with all her heart; sister and brother-in-law, Vanessa and Michael Zadrozny; nieces and nephews, Zachary, Zoey, Zana and Zane Zadrozny; former husband, Rich Baker; and pet cat, Simba. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
