Della Menestrina Keruskin, 96, of Monongahela (Carroll Township) passed away May 24, 2023, at home surrounded by her family. Born June 24, 1926, in Meriden, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Secondo and Mary (Pittigher) Menestrina-Gasperini. After her graduation from high school, Della began working for Corning Glass Co. in Charleroi, taking time off to raise her family. As the family grew, she decided to go back to Corning, where she continued working until her retirement. A member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, she attended Mary Mother of the Church in Charleroi. In her spare time, Della enjoyed sewing and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Della is survived by a son, Brian Keruskin of Charleroi; her daughter, Lori Mendicino of Carroll Township; a sister, Louise Royak of Pleasant Hills; and three grandchildren, Brittany Keruskin and fiancé James Lemon of Rostraver; Nicholas Keruskin and fiancé Tori Secilia of Beallsville and Taylor Mendicino of Carroll Township; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander “Big Daddy” Keruskin, who died Aug. 3, 2009; a brother, Charles Menestrina; a sister, Bruna Keyock; and a brother-in-law, Albert Royak. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767. Blessing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, May 27, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 722 West Main St., Monongahela, with Father Kevin Dominik as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
