Social media posts trigger debate at Ringgold meeting

Ringgold School Board members and a candidate in Tuesday’s primary election jousted over social media posts during Wednesday’s public meeting.
Paula Harshaw, who fell short in her election bid for a school board seat, argued some board members made disparaging comments on Facebook during the election directed toward her and “Moms 4 Ringgold,” the candidate group Harshaw campaigned from.
The local group is composed of Harshaw, Brittany Macione, Maureen Ott and Heather Wilhelm. Macione and Wilhelm each secured Republican nominations for the upcoming general election and Ott, an incumbent, secured a nomination for the board’s Regional 3 seat.
