Janet L. Rotolo – Monessen

Janet L. Rotolo, 75, of Monessen, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 9, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. She was born in Charleroi July 6, 1947, a daughter of the late Glenn A. and Shirley D. “Beads” Bloyer Chew Sr. Janet graduated from Rostraver High School and had been Mardi Gras Queen, being crowned at the Twin Coaches. She furthered her education at California State Teachers College and graduated from there. Janet was a member of First Christian Church of Monessen, having served as organist for many years. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 205, where she was Past Worthy Matron, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem being a Past Worthy High Priestess. Janet and her late husband, Richard Rotolo, had owned and operated JLR Trucking, as well as “Rotolo’s 3 Seasons.” In addition to her parents and late husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Glenn A. Chew Jr. Surviving are her daughter, Carissa Rotolo; son, Richard Rotolo; grandson, Gage Rotolo; niece, Michelle Rotolo Spano; nephew, Tony Rotolo; sister-in-law, Cindy Kraus; and her childhood best friend and “sister,” Donna Lewis Daugherty. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023. Interment will follow at Belle Vernon Cemetery. Online condolences may be conveyed at www.rhomefuneralhome.com
