Richard “Rick” John Moorby, 60, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born March 8, 1963, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Donna Gorby. Rick was a 1981 graduate of Bethel Park High School. He was employed in maintenance at Ponderosa Steakhouse for over 30 years. He was an amazing husband, father, brother and friend. He had a good heart and an even better sense of humor. Rick could laugh at anything and enjoyed cutting smart aleck humor. He loved dirt bikes, fast cars and car shows. Rick had a love for music and animals, especially his cat, Sly. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Tirpak Moorby, with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage on Dec. 11, 2022; son, Zachary A. Moorby, of Belle Vernon; adopted son, Gauge Moorby; granddaughter, Krysandra Rusnak; two sisters, Lusi Wood of New Eagle, Regina Moorby of South Park; two brothers, Michael Moorby of Connellsville, Bruce Moorby of Monongahela; four nephews, Kyle and Jacob Wood, Patrick and Phillip Moorby; best friend, Don Grove of Monongahela. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 13, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela.
