Betty Jane Maki, 97, of Dunlevy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, in her home. Born on June 18, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lillian Ray. She was an avid bingo player, traveling from fire hall to fire hall depending on which one brought her luck. She also loved cutting her grass and taking care of her home, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her daughters, Virginia “Ginny” (Paul) Marley and Patti Maki, both of Dunlevy; granddaughters, Audra Linger, Heather Rodger, Jennifer Perowski and Crystal Maki; great-grandchildren, Michael (Alexis) Hagans, Shawn Antonik, Paul Antonik, Maki Lynn (Ethan) Sahli, Kayden Rodger, Adalie (Dan) Rodger, Kai Rodger and Olivia Perowski; great-great-grandchildren, Camden, Cash and Olive Hagans, Kaliah Pena and Kieran and Marley Sahli; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter Maki; brothers, Harry Ray and Jack Ray; and sisters, Dolores Rockidge and Helen Kokkila. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to noon, the time of services, Thursday, May 11, 2023, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bentleyville Volunteer Fire Department, 900 Main St., Bentleyville, PA 15314.
