Gerald D. “Jetters” Stasicha, 75, of Rostraver, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at his home after valiantly battling cancer with his loving and supportive family by his side. Born Dec. 28, 1947, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Carl Stasicha Sr. and Geraldine Briggs Stasicha. Jetters grew up in Charleroi and was a resident of Rostraver for the past 15 years. He was Catholic by faith and attended St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Monessen and St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in Rostraver. In his earlier years, Jetters was employed at Lee Supply and worked for Republic Steel (Banning Mine). As he moved on in life, he was employed at Primerica Financial Services, where he worked as a financial advisor. He was an active member of the Rostraver-Monessen Rotary Club, where he received the Paul Harris Award. He worked tirelessly to fundraise for the Rotary scholarship fund, especially at the annual oldies dance. He also volunteered to be Santa Claus for various programs over the holidays, including SPHS Day. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Salvation Army bell ringing, Toys for Tots and enjoyed coaching many youth sports. Jetters was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and a passionate Elvis Presley fan. He enjoyed traveling to Hilton Head, Myrtle Beach and Disney World, but one of his favorite places to be was home away from home, Mountain Pines Campground. Jetters always had such a big personality, and anyone who knew him a little would know him a lot. He loved his family and spending time with his friends, but nothing compared to the time he spent laughing and joking with his grandsons. He is survived by his best friend, wife and soulmate, Charmelle Biksey Stasicha, with whom he would have celebrated 48 years of marriage in November; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Karen Stasicha of Rostraver Township; daughter and son-in-law, Haley and Steven Kirk of Fairfax, Va.; his loving and devoted sister, Janice Stasicha and fiancé, Bob Marhefka; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Marcia Stasicha, and Barry and Carol Stasicha; two brothers-in-law, Charles Biksey and wife Kathy, and Thomas Biksey and wife Germaine; two sisters-in-law, Tammy DiPiazza and husband Jeff, Mary Zebula and husband Charles; three goddaughters, Abby, Sara and Briana; three grandsons, who all adored and idolized their pappy, Carter Stasicha, Mason Stasicha and Owen Kirk; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many special friends from camp, the neighborhood, Rotary, work and childhood. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Helen Biksey. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Panahida will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen J. Wahal as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Gerald D. Stasicha to the funeral home, where donations will be collected in support of students in the Belle Vernon Area School District who are currently affected by cancer. Condolences accepted at the funeral home’s website, www.parzynskifuneralhome.com. “ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING!”
