Ronald E. Davis, 88, of White Oak, formerly of Elrama, died Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in his home. He was born April 16, 1935, in Washington, the son of John Ernest and Daisy Bell Barnhart Davis. Ron was a 1954 graduate of Ellsworth High School. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force. While in the service, he had the honor to serve with Chuck Yeager and travel the world. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monongahela and the White Oak American Legion Post 701. He retired from U.S. Steel Irvin Works, where he was employed as a union carpenter for 20 years. Ron also used his carpenter skills to build cabinets for many families in the Elrama community. Ron loved to polka dance with his wife, golf, watch WWE and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Darla (Mike) Peduzzi of White Oak; son, Ronald “John” (Sharon McKee) Davis of Finleyville; three grandchildren, Lara (Derek) Bigler, John A. (Jessica Wall) Davis, Angela Peduzzi; two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Andrew; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann Neidermeyer Davis, who died July 12, 2004; stepfather, Clinton “Bud” A. McElfresh; and sister, Emma Jean Stauffer. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating, along with military honors accorded by the U.S. Air Force. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
