Clairton kindergarten kiddos enjoy their first ‘prom’

As the high-school prom season is about to kick off, the kindergarten team at Clairton School District decided their students should get a chance to step out in their finest, too.
Kristan Ferguson, Angela Recaldini, Shana Mignogna and Pam Black thought it would be a cute idea and immediately got to work getting decorations, snacks, a DJ, photo backdrops, tickets and permission slips ready.
“The students arrived in the fanciest attire the elementary may have ever seen,” Mignogna said.
The festivities began in the gym as each child was announced in front of an audience of family and friends just like a grand march before a prom.
Each class crowned a prince and princess of the prom. The awards were based on attendance, academics and attitude.
