Laurice Banks-Ross – Pricedale

By obits

Another angel has been called home. On April 18, 2023, Laurice Banks-Ross, 96, of Pricedale, left family and friends to celebrate the Promise of the Lord, and as He said, awaits us all. She was born and raised in Birmingham, Ala., on Sept. 8, 1926, gifted to the late James and Ophelia Alexander. She was a great and loving mother to six sons and two daughters. Laurice did not waste a day that God blessed her with. She was very active in her church, Whole Truth COGIC. She had a big heart and open arms for anyone who needed a lifting up. A loving woman and pioneer in her community, she was a leading force in accomplishing so much to benefit the children and families who were her neighbors. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Edward J. Banks and Eugene Ross. Also leaving her way too soon were two sons, Willie and Robert Ross; as well as a daughter, Barbara Ross. Surviving to cherish her memory are four sons, Richard, James, Maurice and David; one daughter, Donna Ross; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Laurice will surely be missed by all the lives she touched along her journey here on earth. She earned all her feathers, our Lord’s good and faithful servant, a job well done. Chapel viewing will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at House of Jackson Memorial Chapel, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora. Funeral service is set for 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Whole Truth COGIC, 1004 McKean Ave., Donora, with Pastor, Elder Maurice B. Wade Jr., officiating. A Celebration of Life has been gently placed in the hands of House of Jackson Memorial Chapel, 546 Thompson Avenue, Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
