Gordon Leroy Carlson, 93, of Charleroi, passed away April 13, 2023, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Born on Dec. 18, 1929, Gordon was the son of the late John and Helen Anderson Carlson. After graduating high school, Gordon served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Gordon then worked for Chapman Corporation as a sheet metal worker. He was a Protestant by faith, enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling to Branson, Mo., and loved watching his Pittsburgh Steelers. Surviving to cherish Gordon’s memory are his wife, Dolores Carlson; his daughters, Sheila (Chuck) Fear, Karen (Shawn) Pullion and Nancy (Jim) Lundy; Gordon’s grandchildren, Amanda Fear, Kelsey (Tim Lucas) Pullion, Taylor (Andy) Wolfe and Jimmy (Calista) Lundy; his great- grandchildren, Audrey Lucas, Charlotte Wolfe and Andrew Wolfe; and his numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gordon was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lorraine Wendel and Frances Anderson; and his brothers, Kenneth Carlson and John Carlson. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 16, 2023, at HOGAN-MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m., with doors opening at 9 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Mon Valley Memorial Park.
