Rose Maksim Vasques March, 91, of Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Jefferson Hospital. She was a retired seamstress and a former Seamstress Union president. Born Dec. 4, 1931, in Smithdale, she was a daughter of the late George and Pauline Popovich Maksim; and wife of the late James Samuel March. She is survived by her sons, Tony (Ana Cammarata) Vasques of Lakewood, Ohio, and Ricky Vasques of McKeesport; grandchildren, Gabrielle (Josh) McCort of Kennewick, Wash., and Erica Vasques of Pittsburgh; step-grandchildren, Jaime (Chris) Maravich of Chicago, Ill., and Jeanine March of Chicago, Ill.; step-great- grandchildren, Heath and Kyle Maravich; sister, Sylvia Tedrow of Smithdale; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by former spouses, Adolph Vasques and Jim Seman; stepson, James K. March; sister, Marlene Hall; and brother, Henry Maksim. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 North Second Ave., Elizabeth, from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, and from 4 p.m. until the time of blessing at 6 p.m. in the funeral home with Deacon Dale DiSanto officiating.
