By obits

Geosette Langenheim, M.D., 94, of Charleroi, passed away on April 1, 2023. Born on November 15, 1928, in Manilla, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Andhree Langenheim. At age 15, she taught French in Paris, yet her passion was in the medical field. It was very difficult at the time to get into medical school, but she eventually graduated from Woman’s College in Philadelphia. She did a residency in California, where she became friends with Abigail Folger, who was famously murdered by the Manson family. She returned to the area and worked as an OBGYN at Mon Valley Hospital. A unique and intelligent individual, she had a great love of her work, delivering over 3,000 babies during her career, and had a love for her cats and dogs and even adopted a whale. Dr. Langenhiem has no known living relatives. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Frederica Langenheim. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services on Wednesday, April 5, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A special thanks goes to the Hallsworth House staff and nurse Joan Holets for their superior care. Online condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
