By obits

Dolores Irene Fisher, 88, of Washington Township, Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by an abundance of love, on Sunday, April 2, 2023, in Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh. A daughter of the late Wilbur and Forl Krause Kifer, she was born in Grindstone on Aug. 18, 1934. Protestant by faith, Dolores had resided in Washington Township since 1970, was a founding board member of the Center on the Hill and was the former chairwoman and board member of the Washington Township Municipal Authority. She had been employed in the administration department of the U.S. Navy in several locations during her husband’s naval career. Following the Navy, she was an administrative assistant to the CEO at Macintosh Hempfield Manufacturing, and then, being community minded, she held the same position for the Uniontown Hospital Foundation, retiring in her mid-60s. She loved travel, gardening, playing the organ and was an avid reader. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Allen and MaryDee Fisher of Pittsburgh; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Edythe Lydia Kifer of Glades Springs, Va.; two grandchildren, Michelle (Andrew) Faderewski of Sewickley and Brian Fisher of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Keira Faderewski; and multiple cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life for 42 years, her husband, Elmer I. “Ike” Fisher, on June 12, 1995. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. The Rev. Vann Walchock will officiate. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Briar Hill.
