Mario “Uch” Tarabrella, 74, of Monongahela, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Born Nov. 29, 1948, in San Giovani en Fiore, Italy, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Kikla) Tarabrella. A 1968 graduate of the former Mon Valley Catholic High School, Mario was a very outgoing, active, fun loving and a generous man who loved his family above all. He enjoyed the Steelers and Penn-Trafford football, often attending games. He was an avid golfer and fisherman, and he loved going with his brother, Dan, whom he considered his hero and mentor throughout his life. In 2017, Mario was fortunate to travel back to Italy to reunite with family members. He loved to write stories about Italy and enjoyed writing songs on his keyboard. Mario was employed by and retired from the former Flexsys Chemical Co. in Monongahela. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, Suzanne Haburchak Tarabrella, whom he married Oct. 7, 1992; daughter, Theresa (Don) McMahon; stepson, Tom (Rose) Trunzo; stepdaughters, Tina Gibson and Tammy Kleeberg; grandchildren, Maisie and Dee McMahon and Noah, Sierra and Paige Trunzo; brother, Dan (Joyce) Tarabrella; sister, Danielle (Marty) Pistella; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Timothy Jon Trunzo; and mother and father-in-law, John and Susan Haburchak. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2023. Blessing prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 722 W. Main St., Monongahela, beginning at 10 a.m. with Father Kevin Dominik as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in Mario’s name to the American Heart Association, Four Gateway Center, 444 Liberty Ave., Ste. 1300, Pittsburgh or www.heart.org/donate.
