Zenona C. “Nonie” McKown Pennell, age 80, of Donora, formerly of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at home. Family was the most important thing to her, and she loved her grandbabies. Born May 24, 1942, in Elizabeth, she was a daughter of the late Robert McKown Sr. and the late Catherine (Maley) McKown; and wife of the late Robert D. Pennell Sr. She is survived by daughters, Julie (Mark) Kallok of Donora and Bobbi (Vincent) Lucot of Glassport; sons, Daniel (Jeanie) Pennell of Perryopolis, James (Carolyn Lehnen) Pennell of Culpepper, Va., Thomas (Liz) Pennell of Elizabeth Township, Donald (Eileen) Pennell of Elizabeth Township, Robert (Deborah) Pennell Jr. of Dunbar, William (Tina) Pennell of Lincoln Borough and Kenneth (Sharon McLellan) Pennell of Lincoln Borough; 38 grandchildren; 54 great- grandchildren; seven great- great-grandchildren; brother, Ronald McKown of Buena Vista; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by daughters, Geraldine Brown and Elizabeth “Betty” Pennell; grandson, Marc McLellan; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Klein and Emmaline Claire Gower. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, Elizabeth, from 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, until the time of service at 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Riker officiating. Private interment at the International Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery, Elk Garden, W.Va.
