Dorothy McCloy – Stockdale

Dorothy McCloy, 99, of Stockdale, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Dunlevy Gardens. Born in Smithfield, Pa., on Oct. 9, 1923, she was the daughter of Mike and Minnie Dokish Savage and was the last of her immediate family. Dorothy was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Masontown, a lifelong member of the Stockdale VFD Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Roscoe American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary. Dorothy retired from Corning Glass with 10 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, walking and loved canning until the age of 96. Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary “Peanuts” McCloy of Stockdale; a daughter, Cindy (David) Lehr of Speers; 10 grandchildren, Kellie, Grant, Morgan, Bryan, Holly, Garret, Mindi, Adam, Steven and Scott, and 13 great-grandchildren, Harlie, Evan, Braden, Noah, Blake, Sophia L., Peyton, Landon and Kolton, Josalyn, Michael, Frankie, Sophia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant “Buster” McCloy; two sons, George “Rusty” McCloy and Larry McCloy; seven brothers, George, Metro, John, Paul, Sam, Joe and Peter; and three sisters; Helen, Rose and Joan. Visitation and funeral services will be private. Interment will be at Howe Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Melenyzer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe.
