Ronald Albert “Ron” Seery, 76, of St. Augustine, passed away on March 19, 2023, at his home in St. Augustine. Ron was born on Dec. 12, 1946, in Pittsburgh, to parents Charles and Frances Twardy Seery. He grew up in Pittsburgh and graduated from Baldwin High School with the Class of 1965. Ron joined the U.S. Army right out of high school and served two tours in Vietnam. After his discharge he returned to Pittsburgh and began working as a building contractor before going to work in the early 1970s as a glass worker for Corning Inc. He met his future wife, Robin June Aul, in Pittsburgh and married her on Oct. 17, 1978. Ron and Robin moved to Charleroi, where they lived for 30 years and raised a family of three sons. They retired to St. Augustine in 2010 after retiring from Corning. Ron was very proud of his military service and continued to stay active in veteran associations. He was a member of the VFW, Post 2391 where he served as senior vice commander. He was catholic by faith. More than anything, Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Seery and an infant daughter, Heather. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Robin A. Seery of St. Augustine; sons, Marc Seery (Jonathan Nicholson) of Morgantown, W.Va., First Sgt. Michael Seery, USAF (Katie) of Spokane, Wash.; Zachary Seery of Charleroi; a brother, David Seery (Judy) of St. Augustine; grandchildren, Tristian, Ryan and Alex; a nephew, Brian Seery (Natalie) of Pittsburgh; a niece, Jennifer Urbas (Ed) of State College, Pa.; great-nieces and great-nephews, Cole and Lance Urbas and Amber and Chloe Seery. He was also survived by many beloved cousins and extended family members. A celebration of Ron’s life was held at the VFW post 2391 in St. Augustine. Interment with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. ST. JOHNS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
