Charleroi rolls past Jefferson-Morgan

Charleroi’s softball team took a while to get things going in their season opener against visiting Jefferson-Morgan, but once the Cougars started swinging they didn’t stop. Charleroi scored nine runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and Maddie Lancy smacked a two-run walk-off homer to end the game with the 10-run rule as the Cougars picked up a 12-2 win over the Rockets Monday. Sofia Celaschi threw a complete game shutout, allowing one hit and striking out 10.
