The Elizabeth Forward School Board approved restoration payments and hired additional restoration companies as the cleaning process continues a month after a devastating fire at the high school.
The board confirmed a payment of $600,000 — an insurance reimbursement according to Superintendent Dr. Keith Konyk — to GS Jones for restoration services at the high school.
Other agreements were made with Belfor USA as an additional restoration company with the second phase of the board’s cleanup plan involving the auditorium, Belfor Property Restoration for general restoration at the school, Vegely Welding for work at the high school, Pennsylvania Roofing Systems Inc. for roofing work at the school, Robert Obusek Carpet Services to provide carpeting in designated areas destroyed by fire and Taylor Structural Engineers and TSE RAM Acoustical to build temporary wall framing at the school. The prices of these agreements were not readily available.
