Marlene M. Harmon, 66, of Charleroi passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Born on July 2, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mildred Hans Prokopovitch. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, the Charleroi Belgian, Russian and Slovak clubs and the Charleroi Fishing Club. She was a retired nurse for the former Mon Valley Hospital and after retirement she continued to care for everyone around her and took pride in being a nurse. She enjoyed fishing and most of all she loved cooking meals for others. Marlene is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Jason) Sismondo of Charleroi; son, Michael (Sarah) Harmon of Belle Vernon; brother, Glenn (Deborah) Prokopovitch of Canonsburg; and granddaughter, Mary Sismondo. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Debra Crawford and Linda Lee Prokopovitch; and aunt, Linda Sapko. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION, 819 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi, with interment following at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
