Lorraine Wanzilak Boord – Monessen

Lorraine Wanzilak Boord, 86, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on Sept. 7, 1936, in North Charleroi, daughter of the late John and Pauline Duche Wanzilak. She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church. She was a cafeteria worker for many years at Monessen High School. Surviving are her three sons, Ken (Peg) Boord of Jacksonville, Fla., Scott J. (Adella) Boord of Carroll Township and Mark Boord of Tennessee; three grandchildren, Christopher (Wendy) Boord of Jacksonville, Fla., Jennifer Poroda of Fallowfield Township and John Boord of Pittsburgh; and three great-grandchildren, A.J. and Jaclynn Poroda and Gus Boord. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter S. Boord; and a son, Shawn D. Boord. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, in the funeral home with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery.
