Tara Elise Laidley, 62, of Monessen, transitioned into Glory, surrounded by her loving family at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital on March 4, 2023. Tara was a long- time, devoted member of Union Baptist Church of Monessen. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha E. Laidley and father, David E. Laidley, Sr.; sister, Lois E. Laidley; brother, David E. Laidley Jr. and daughter, Ciara Laidley. Tara was an excellent cook and hosted many cookouts, parties and holiday events for family and friends. Tara loved preparing for the holidays and all you needed to do was come to her door to know what holiday was next. She was easy to talk to and always spoke her mind and was a friend to many and never forgot her upbringing. She will be remembered by most from her longtime job at Giant Eagle. She leaves to mourn her daughter, Lyric Ross; and son, David Jeffries, both of Monessen; brother, Darwin E. Laidley; and sister, Marcia L. Laidley, both of California; sister, Daria I.E. Laidley Randolph, Danielle Randolph; sister, Angel E. Laidley, Shannon and Craig, and Daria A.D. Randolph, all of Richmond, Va.; and loving brother, Daniel Griffin Laidley of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and family; special uncles, Lloyd Aldrich, Michael Aldrich, Larry Aldrich. Also, leaving behind her devoted pets, Dewey, Duke and Nina. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Union Baptist Church, 670 McMahon Ave., Monessen, PA 15062. Funeral service, Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rev. Montae Nicholson giving the eulogy. Celebration of life has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420.
