Wayne G. Sutch, 81, of Coal Center, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. He was born April 7, 1941, in Charleroi, son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Winnett Sutch. Mr. Sutch was a 1960 graduate of California High School. He was employed at West Penn Power, Mon Valley office, for 37 years, retiring in 2003. Wayne enjoyed farming, gardening, bowling in the West Penn Bowling League and was the oldest acting member of the Mon Valley Dartball League. On May 7, 1961, he married Nellie Weaver Sutch, who died Jan. 19, 2019. Surviving are two children, James Sutch (Donna) of Daisytown and Janet Mihalek of Coal Center; daughter-in-law, Debbie Sutch of West Newton; eight grandchildren, Brandon Weiss, Jennifer Bailey (Keith), Adam Sutch, Aaron Sutch (Christine), John Michael Mihalek, Trisha Mihalek, Austin Sutch and Maci Boord; three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Brody and Brooklyn Sutch; two brothers, Allen Sutch (Doris) and David Sutch (Kriste), both of Coal Center; a sister, Susan Sutch of Washington, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife are a son, Wayne R. Sutch; and a granddaughter, Milena Boord. Friends will be received from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME LTD., 2830 Main St., Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, with Pastor Ken Custer officiating. Interment will be private.
