Lou Ann Carson Holowich, 68, of Monessen, formerly of Monongahela, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Hallsworth House in Monessen. Born Oct. 20, 1954, in Monongahela, she was the daughter of the late J. Donald and Mary Jane Rose Carson. Lou Ann was a 1972 graduate of Monongahela High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Monongahela. Lou Ann worked over 40 years as an LPN at Monongahela Valley Hospital until her retirement. She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Holowich, whom she married Sept. 7, 1985; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald E. (Sandy) Carson of Monongahela and Frank G. (Debbie) Carson of Fallowfield Township; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Ted) Jakela of Monessen and Terri Holowich of Morrisville, Pa.; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Holowich. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Condolences can be made online at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
