Marie A. Tonarelli – Belle Vernon

Marie A. Tonarelli, 81, of Belle Vernon, passed away suddenly in her sleep at home on Sunday, March 5, 2023. The daughter of the late Thaddeus and Anna Tomalski, she was born in Arnold City on May 12, 1941. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Marie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the lights of her life. She had a special connection with her twin sister, Marcella. She also loved playing bingo, cooking and baking for her family and watching her daily soaps and Lifetime movies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand A. Tonarelli, after 53 years of marriage. Survivors include five children, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, including son, Riccardo Tonarelli of Elizabeth and grandson, Gregory; daughter Rosemarie ‘Mimi’ Jennewine of Belle Vernon; and grandchildren, Marie and husband Neil Paris with great-grandchildren, Camden, Brooklyn and Logan; grandchildren, Michael, Mikayla, and Mitchell; son, Dennis Tonarelli of Belle Vernon; son, Edward Tonarelli and wife Jodi of North Hills and granddaughters, Madison and Bethany; and daughter, Valerie and husband David Fowler of Virginia Beach, Va., and grandchildren, Eva, Julia and Andrew. Also surviving are sisters, Dorothy Ramsier, twin sister Marcella Niccolai and Annette Suppa; and brother, Tom Tomalski. Sisters-in-law, Debbie Tomalski and Shirley Tonarelli, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Sciore, son-in-law, Michael Jennewine, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A blessing will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with Father Michael Crookston as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
