McKeesport’s mayor addressed a violent day in the city Wednesday during last night’s council meeting.
The first shooting was reported around noon on Versailles Avenue, near Family Dollar. Police said first responders found a 47-year-old man who’d been shot in the head. Police said he was officially pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
The second shooting happened in the Crawford Village housing complex around 1 p.m, where first responders found three wounded men: a 22-year-old, pronounced dead on scene, a 30-year-old, who later died at a hospital, and an 18-year-old, who remains in stable condition after sustaining a gunshot to his leg.
Police said the two shootings are not connected.
McKeesport Area Senior High School, Founder’s Hall Middle School and Twin Rivers Elementary were placed on lockdowns following the shootings, the district said.
