Monessen: Better response time by Mon Valley EMS cited

Monessen council said Thursday that Mon Valley EMS has significantly improved its responsiveness to city calls over the past two months. Mayor Ron Mozer said over the final quarter of 2022, Mon Valley EMS responded to roughly 60% of all ambulance calls originating in Monessen. Rostraver West Newton EMS responded to 20% and the remaining 20% were split among other services. In January, Councilman John Scott Nestor said, Mon Valley EMS responded to 80% of calls and then in February thus far it has responded to 87% of calls.
