Arthur “Dick” F.R. Blair, 80, of Belle Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born Jan. 5, 1943, in New Eagle, he was the son of the late Huie and Golda Brown Blair. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 54 years, Mr. Blair was a salesman for the Catholic Cemetery Association. He served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 and United Mine Workers Union Local 2878 where he served as treasurer. He was a salesman for Encyclopedia Britannica and also worked at the Marianna and Montour 10 mine. Dick was a 1960 graduate of Donora High School. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid football fan of both watching his grandson play football and of the Pittsburgh Steelers where he never missed a game. He was also a record collector of ’50s and ’60s music. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn J. Pietroboni Blair, to whom he was married for 56 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Scott McCullough of Rostraver Township, Pamela Blair and husband Bruce Brickman of Portland; and two grandchildren, Abby (Scott Jones) McCullough and Aaron and wife Jenna McCullough. He was preceded in death by his five sisters, Ruth Collinat, Beatrice Meek, Dolores Gaydos, Doletta Fransko and Norma DeMarco; and two brothers, Benjamin and Timothy Blair. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their sincerest thank you to the staff at the Hallsworth House, ViaQuest Hospice and AHN Hospice and a special thank you to Joan Holets, Maria Friend and Rachel Ankrom for taking such special care of our husband and father.
