Helen Marie Fall Guzensky – Monessen

Helen Marie Fall Guzensky, 96, of Monessen, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on Oct. 20, 1926, in Monessen, the daughter of the late Aleck and Anna Mahalko Fall. She was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where she was an officer and was still devoting much of her time. She was also a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox League, St. Mary’s Sisterhood and she was a Sunday school teacher. She helped found Monessen Meals on Wheels, where she volunteered for 40 years, was a member of various card clubs and took many bus trips with the senior citizens groups in Monessen. Surviving are her son, Robert M. Guzensky of Penn Hills; daughter, Diane (Edmund) Luther of Hookstown, Pa.; son-in-law, Reuben Farley of Montros, Va.; three grandsons, Matthew Luther, Joshua (Kristy) Luther and Benjamin Farley; three granddaughters, Sarah Luther, Hanna (Daniel) DeBord and Laura (Joshua) Lowry; great-grandchildren, Coraline and Emma Lowry, Riley, Regan and Beaux DeBord and Aaron Luther. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Guzensky; daughter, Nancy Farley; and brother, George “Yuri” Fall. Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 17 Reed Ave., Monessen, with funeral services following at 11 a.m. with Father Roman Yatskiv officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mon Valley Salvation Army, 800 Thompson Ave., Donora, PA 15033.
