Andrew L. Varganin, 87, of Gibsonia, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023. He was born in Monessen on July 31, 1935, son of the late Andrew and Mary Varganin. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to Gloria Jean Karbowsky Varganin; loving father of A.J. (Noemy) Varganin of Springfield, N.J., and Maribeth (Greg) Varganin-Hayward of Cranberry Township, Pa.; grandfather of Alexandra Varganin of Fairfax, Va., Kayla Valentine of Chicago, Ill., Kira Valentine of Pittsburgh and Nika Valentine of Pittsburgh. Andrew was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus Council 954 in Monessen. He was a carpenter for 50 years and worked on many hometown buildings. During his spare time, he loved watching college football and basketball, cheering loudly for Notre Dame and Alabama. After his retirement, he loved watching his granddaughters and the puppies. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at St. Kilian Catholic Church, 7076 Franklin Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066. Arrangements were entrusted to PITTSBURGH CREMATION & FUNERAL CARE, McMurray, Pa.
