Adrienne “Honey” Matus, 88, of Coal Center, formerly of Cokeburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at Victoria House Personal Care Home in Monessen. She was born Jan. 2, 1935, in Washington, Pa., daughter of the late Lee and Mary Marchines Karpoff. Adrienne was a 1954 graduate of Bentleyville-Ellsworth High School. Mrs. Matus was employed as an X-ray technician for 25 years at Centerville Clinic. Honey enjoyed polkas and was a very skilled polka dancer. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and the weekend pizza parties they shared. Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Hixon (Gene) of Eighty Four; two grandchildren, Jason Kadash (Jennifer) of Daisytown and Amanda Kadash of Cokeburg; four great-grandchildren, Dimiah Smith (Brittney), Xander Kadash, Maximus Kadash and Liam Wilson; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Joseph Matus, who died Dec. 27, 2004; and two brothers, Leo and Leonard Karpoff. Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, with 2 p.m. the time of service in GREENLEE’S BENTLEYVILLE FUNERAL HOME, 619 Main St., Bentleyville, with Pastor John Dykstra officiating.
