Louise A. Sowers, 91, of Monongahela, formerly of Fellsburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital. Born in Webster on Dec. 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James Ellsworth and Sarah Jane Clegg Boyd. She is survived by her children, Robert Sowers, David (Lora) Sowers and Donna Marie (Tim) Hruby, all of Monongahela; grandchildren, Rebecca Laughland, James Robert (Jaime) Laughland, Taylor (Craig Munster) Hruby, Alicia (Braden) Henson Johnathyn Sowers and Jonah Sowers; great-grandchildren, Adian and Alister Evans, Ariel Munster and Ava Laughland; and sister, Shirley Necciai of Monongahela. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Curly” Sowers Jr.; daughter, Linda Laughland; siblings, Kathryn Anders, Vernon Boyd, Robert Boyd, Ellsworth Boyd, James Boyd; and an infant sister, Faye Irene Boyd. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for Louise from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at the Monongahela Fire Department Social Hall, 451 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063. Private services and interment will be in Mon Valley Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to help defray overwhelming medical costs. These contributions can be made to the family through the funeral home.
