Decked out in pink, Carmella Moux was the most popular guest in attendance Wednesday when her mother received the first cans of formula from the Monessen Family Center Formula Bank.
Carmella, 10-months-old, was with her mother, Sam, and her older brother, Charlie, all of Monessen, when Beverly’s Babies opened it’s newest formula bank in the Mon Valley on Wednesday.
Beverly’s Babies is an extension of Beverly’s Birthdays, an area nonprofit founded on the premise that every child, regardless of personal, or financial circumstances deserves to be celebrated, has provided birthday cheer to area youth for more than a decade.
Beverly’s Babies, which celebrates “birth” days, supports a network of agency partners and their families throughout the greater Pittsburgh region with resources to support them during the pregnancy and first year.
These services include free community baby showers, newborn diaper bag care packages, a critical baby care item referral program, and most recently, the launch of infant formula banks.
Beverly’s Babies opened its first formula bank in June 2022 to provide critical baby care items and life sustaining resources for expecting parents and new babies.
