Stella Frantz, 99, of Charleroi, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023. Born on July 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Poteray. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and the Charleroi Golden Agers. She enjoyed spending time with family and doing yard work. She also enjoyed taking casino trips and traveling the country with her husband. Stella is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Jon) Batchelor of Pittsburgh, Lorraine McGovern of McMurray and Diane Bachik of McMurray; grandchildren, Rachel, Alyssa, John, Katie, Jennifer, Courtney and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ezra, Stella, Everleigh and Maverick; sisters, Eleanor Yocolano of Donora, Norma Chasko of Finleyville and Maryann (Jim) Smith of Monessen; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph S. Frantz; brothers, Larry and Bobby Poteray; sisters, Helen Poteray and Mildred Brown; and sons-in-law, Jack McGovern and Henry Bachik. Friends may attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Charleroi. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME, Charleroi, Joseph A. Lopez, funeral director.
