Jonathan Kip Jones, 62, of Coal Center, passed away on Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, while having the time of his life fishing off the shores of Louisiana. Born in Rapid City, S.D., he was the son of Gay Edward and Joan Yvonne Smith Jones. Jonathan was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Jonathan was a member of Lover Church of Christ, the Long Branch Gun Club and the NRA. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Lee Gregg Jones; two sons, Chad (Caitlin) Jones of Blainsburg and Bryce Jones (Mindy Martin) of Long Branch; a granddaughter, Ruby Joan Jones; and his sister, Cynthia Pardee of Riverside, Calf. Jonathan was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Gay Jones. Visitation will be private. Online condolences may be expressed at www.melenyzer.com.
